MAME4droid, developed by David Valdeita (Seleuco), serves as a port of the latest iteration of the MAME emulator, maintained by MAMEDev and contributors. This application emulates a range of arcade games and systems, including the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, and MSX, boasting support for over 40,000 distinct ROMs.

It is important to note that MAME4droid is an emulator and does not include any ROMs or copyrighted material.

Users should be aware that MAME4droid operates independently of the original MAME team; therefore, inquiries regarding this application should not be directed to them.

This version of MAME4droid has been optimized for high-end Android devices, as it is based on the most recent PC version of MAME, which necessitates higher specifications compared to earlier releases. Despite using a high-end device, users should not anticipate consistent full-speed performance or compatibility with "modern" arcade titles from the 1990s and later.

Due to the extensive library of over 40,000 supported titles, performance may vary; while some games may run exceptionally well, others may experience difficulties or fail to operate entirely. Given the vastness of this library, individual game support requests cannot be accommodated.

After installation, it is recommended to place your zipped ROMs into the /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.seleuco.mame4d2024/files/roms directory. Additional options for accessing ROMs can be found in the help section.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This version of MAME4droid exclusively uses the latest MAME romset and does not support romsets from older versions.
